8 Ways To Recharge When You Feel Drained
We are constantly on-the-go and working to get things done. After a while, our grinding will catch up with us and we might begin to feel mentally and/or physically drained. This often happens to me after having consecutive busy weeks with little down time. It's importnat to take time to recharge our bodies and minds. Here are some ways to recharge when you're feeling drained.
1. Take it easy
It is challenging to relax when you are accustomed to always working. Take an evening off. Sit down, forget about house chores, close your laptop, and relax.
2. Figure out your priorities
Sometimes we feel stressed or overwhelmed because it seems like we have a million things to do. Figure out which tasks are priorities and which can be set aside for later. Everything isn't always urgent. Focus on one task at a time.
3. pAMPER yourself.
A little pampering can help us feel refreshed and rejuvenated. There are ways to pamper yourself at home for little cost. Take a bubble bath, use a body scrub, exfoliate with a face mask, and give yourself a mani-pedi. You can create a spa-like atmosphere by turning off the lights, lighting candles, and playing chill music. You can also diffuse essential oils to add a relaxing aroma.
4. Improve your eating habits.
Your diet can play an important role in your energy level. Fruit and vegetable consumption can increase your energy. Other foods that can give you an energy boost are yogurt, almonds, beans, whole grain bread, peanut butter, and oatmeal. Also make sure to stay hydrated. Dehydration is the most common cause of fatigue.
5. Get out of the house.
Get some fresh air. Take a walk. Take a long drive. A change of scenery can feel very refreshing. Use this time to be alone with your thoughts.
6. indulge in a guilty pleasure.
Do something harmless that makes you happy. Watch some ratchet tv or a cheesy rom-com, have something sweet, eat fast food, stalk a celebrity on social media, or spend countless hours watching YouTube tutorials. Whatever makes you happy!
7. sweat it out
Exercise is the last thing that comes to mind when we're tired, but exercise has been proven to fight fatigue. It can also improve your mood.
Rest is a logical solution to a lot of problems. Getting good sleep is like hitting your body's RESET button. Our bodies always find a way to tell us when we need to slow down. Whenever your body gives you a sign, you should listen. A nap might be all you need to recharge or you might need a full 7-8 hours.
