6 Podcasts To Help You Get Through The Day

I love podcasts! For the last few years, podcasts have helped me get through some long, boring days at my desk job. The best thing about podcasts is how easily accessible they are. It makes it so easy to absorb information. There are podcasts that cover all topics: pop culture, sports, inspiration, news, comedy, health and wellness, and many more topics.  I have listened to a bunch of podcasts and subscribe to a handful. I made a list of my go-to podcasts.

The Read

The Read is my personal favorite podcast. Kid Fury and Crissle are hilarious. They give a run down of the week's hot topics in pop culture. They read wild and crazy listener letters and provide their inexpert advice, which is usually "break up with him".  Each episode ends with their reads, where they take turns going off on someone who deserves it. New episodes are released on Thursday's. The Read can be found on Apple Podcasts and Sound Cloud.

Gettin' Grown

Jade and Keia talk about the struggles of adulting. Each episode is focused on a different topic within adulthood. They have discussed topics such as feeling left behind, goals, being a millennial and maintaining your peace. I look forward to listening to these friends discuss the challenges of being an adult every week. It's so relatable and authentic. New episodes are released on Tuesday's. Gettin' Grown can be found on Apple Podcasts and Sound Cloud.

The Friend Zone

The Friend Zone is hosted by Fran, Dustin, and Assante. They cover all things mental health and mental hygiene. My favorite segment is Fran's Wellness Segment. They also have a music segment where they talk about new music and recommend emerging artists. The Friend Zone has a way of providing laughs while also discussing a serious topic like mental health. Each episode contains many tips on how to maintain a healthy mind. New episodes are released on Wednesday's. The Friend Zone can be found on Apple Podcasts and Sound Cloud.

Talking Shondaland

Karly and Nicole cover Shonda Rhimes' TGIT (Thank God It's Thursday) line up. They are currently covering Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder. Each week, they recap the new episodes. They make predictions (that are usually wrong) and read feedback from listeners. I enjoy listening to their in-depth conversation on my favorite shows. New episodes are usually released on Monday's. Talking Shondaland can be found on Apple Podcasts and Core Temp Arts' website.

Oprah's Super Soul Conversations

Obviously, everything Oprah does is magical. Her podcast is no different. Each episode is an insightful interview with someone super successful and inspiring. Notable guests are former president Jimmy Carter, former Vice President Joe Biden, Maya Angelou, and Shonda Rhimes. I always feel ready to conquer the world after listening to an episode. Oprah's Super Soul Conversations can be found on Apple Podcasts.

The Call with Erica Williams Simon

The Call is an interview-format podcast. Erica interviews dope and inspiring women of color about their journey to finding their life's calling. My favorite interviews are Melina Matsoukas, Lena Waithe, Latham Thomas, and Yvonne Orji. Erica is a brilliant interviewer. I enjoy her podcast because it gives you the opportunity to become familiar with the work and journeys of some amazing women. The Call can be found on Apple Podcast and Soundcloud.
