6 Things I’m Leaving in 2018 And You Should Too!

I’m not a big “new year, new me” type of girl. But I do believe in setting goals and working to improve myself each year. We strive to be better and grow wiser each year of our lives. A new year is often looked at as a clean slate or a fresh start. It’s the perfect time to set goals and make changes. In addition to my 2019 goals, I made a list of things that I am leaving behind in 2018.

Being broke

Aren’t we all tired of being broke? My word for 2019 is ABUNDANCE. This upcoming year, I am focusing on getting my finances in order. This includes becoming more financially literate. I will be ending the year in a better place than I started it.

Saying YES when we mean NO

I think I’m allergic to saying NO. It’s so hard for me. As I get older, I think it’s silly for me to be afraid to tell people NO. I end up overbooking and overexerting myself at times because I can’t tell anyone NO. It’s time to put on my Big Girl Pants and stop agreeing to things I don’t want to do!

Letting fear hold you back

We too often get in our own way. Stop letting that negative self-talk get the best of you. You might be blocking a blessing.  Like Michael Jordan said, “You miss 100% of shots you don’t take”. So shoot your shot!

Stressing over things you can’t control

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. We are all guilty of obsessing over things that we can’t change. It’s draining and pointless.

Not making time for yourself

Of course I have to mention self-care! When you work hard, it can be hard to find time to do things you enjoy. Don’t forget to pencil in “me time” on your calendar.

Wasting time

Do you ever sit back and think about all the time you wasted? If I would have put my phone down I could have finished ____. Unfortunately, we cannot get that time back. We have to find ways to better manage our time, whether it be using calendars, planners, productivity apps, or simply eliminating distractions. Personally, I want to find a routine that works for me. Because I’m a creature of habit.

What are you leaving in 2018?
